The Role of Biomass in America's Energy Future

This is an interesting lecture I found on MIT website. The speaker shows how much fuel can be made with innovation in biomass processing and agriculture. Although gasification plays a small role in the whole scheme, I think is is a good watch for everyone interested in biomass energy.

But I would rather think electric vehicles as a future of transport. That is stationary electric power plants to also utilize heat from combustion. Still nothing really comes close to energy density of liquid fuels.

It seems such a natural to have stationary woodgas generators as a station for community electric vehicles. All travel would be carbon neutral. Hey Bud, want a charged battery bring me some wood chips, haha. Dried preferably.

Based on the reading that I have done and the lectures at the Biomass Conference I think turning biomass into natural gas is the way to power our cars, homes, etc and still enjoy the same lifestyle.

Great Point energy seems to be doing it and they have the VC money to back it up.

Onsite electric generation and electric cars are also very cool as batteries get more powerful.
