Renewable Energy Finance Forum- Highlights
As you probably know, I was at Reff West last Monday on your behalf to answer some of the big questions right now:
- What does big money think about the credit crunch's effect on the green movement?
- Is this 1980 all over again? If green shrivels up and dies, is gasification still a good use of time?
Without a doubt green is still very much alive and thankfully this isn't 1980 all over again. I was 2 then and my kids are 2 now. I see a brighter energy future for them, even if I have to build it by myself.
The event was top notch. From the attendees to the speakers and yes... the food. It was a high quality event that I will definitely be attending next year. We might even sponsor.
I was only able to attend the first day, but I got alot of it on video. Below are some of the key presentations in the order that I found them most useful. I didn't get footage of Phil Angelides' lunchtime speech about the Apollo Alliance. It was riveting and full of passion for a new direction here in America, fueled by renewable energy.
Denis does a great job of comparing the InfoTech revolution with the EnviroTech revolution. Why IT beat ET and how we can learn from it. This talk was really the most important to me because it showed me that Victory Gasworks is on the right path. We are combining IT & ET very effectively and that is the core reason for our success.
Jay called on all of us as revolutionaries to spark the next great American Revolution, a revolution of renewable energy. Jay is a guy that eats, sleeps, and breathes green. Oh, and along with being an author of books, he is also an author of legislation as a U.S. Congressman.
A topic that kept coming up was electrical transmission capacity and the smart grid. Making energy is only one part of the equation, you have to deliver it in a usable manner. This panel discussion focuses on the "Smart Grid."
And for you green building enthusiasts, this is a panel discussion with green building experts about the realities of greening buildings.
