Greetings-Good to be on board with you all!
My friend here Luc got me interested in wood gasification a few months back. Luc is doing the final tweaking on his GEK system. He is part of the wood gas forum.
Since the summer of 2005, I've discovered a new flame process that spins fire inside of a tube creating a type of endothermic reaction. Basically you charge up a tube with air and propane, light the mix, then gradually pull back on the controls until the flame 'pops' into the pipe. Si…

How to make charcoal for your new gasifier. One of the most common errors (I've made it) in gasification is to not have a thick bed of charcoal in your lower hearth zone when you fire up a new gasifier. That layer of hot carbon is what cracks your tars and with only wood chips down ther…

Capturing methane from landfills and other sources is paving the way to a clean, green energy source and reducing greenhouse gases in the fight against climate change. Through the Methane to Markets Partnership (M2M), EPA is funding 20 projects that will help 12 countries increase their capture and use of methane from the landfill, coal, agriculture, and oil and natural gas se…

Alright,
So someone is afraid of gasifiers because it gives off gas. How stupid can you be? Just don't suck it...get it?
Yes there is carbon monoxide but you don't suck on your car's exhaust because of the exhaust having carbon monoxide so just don't suck on your gasifiers exhaust.
Carbon monoxide can actually be captured and turned into methane. The nice thing about gasification is that most if not all of the biproducts can be made useful whether its electricity, heat your water, run your ho…

Here is a great study done by a Swedish guy (Torsten Kalle) who had a gasifier and through observation and experimentation ended up having a daily driver car that started up in 30 seconds and maintained power. Here are the written words but the pictures and diagrams doesn't show. Read this article and if you get something out of it and want to see the pictures etc... then click on this link after you read my post. http://www.hotel.ymex.net/~s-20222/gengas/kg_eng.html

For those of you new to gasification, here is some useful information. Lots to roll around in your head as you try and understand all of this. Very powerful. Think of all the waste reduction and it blows your mind.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Gasification is a process that uses heat, pressure, and steam to convert materials directly into a gas composed primarily of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Gasification technologies differ in many aspects but rely on four key engineering factors:
1.…

This entry is to educate skeptics who think that these technologies are only done by backyard mechanics. PGL is not a new technology just one forgotten with the advent of cheap foreign oil. Thankfully with these high gas prices, stubborn consumers are looking to help out their pocketbooks while earth conscious people are looking for more sustainable technology to fit their energy needs.
In 1830, a developer successfully commercialized an early application of pyrolysis involving the production o…

The magic of gasification, liquification or pyrolysis can convert waste tires that are filling our landfills into its useful simpler organic compounds. Let's explore these conversions since many people don't understand how all of this works. The information provided here is from the Environmental Factors of Waste Tire Pyrolysis, Gasification, and Liquefaction Final Report presented to the California Integrated Waste Management Board in July 1995 by CalRecovery.
Pyrolysis involves heating organi…
