Hi Mesut,

Sounds like you have a good plan! I do not get any US government money. The only advantage I get by using woodgas is the money saved by not buying expensive gasoline, and I still get the work done.
So far I have saved thousands! It is a lot of work to chop wood into the size I can use in my gasifiers. What kind of wood are you using?

What size engine are you using
(Lieters of cylinder-displacement, kW)? Whom built the engine?

The systems that are using diesel and woodgas use diesel fuel for ignition of the mixture in the combustion-chamber. A throttle-valve is installed in the air-intake manifold, and woodgas is mixed with air upstream the throttle-valve.

The diesel-fuel throttle remains at the idle position, and the woodgas/air throttle is opened to provide the power you need.

A great sorce of information on dual fueling diesel engines with woodgas is professor Mikunda in India. I have not tried dual fueling a diesel engine myself yet, but Mikunda's work is pioneering.

Have you seen Ben's design? It is not much different than my design. Imbert type gasifiers are my favorite.

Firstly ı want to thanks for you.Diesel fuel engines to work with woodgas is not true choice.Because of fuel pomp.Fuel pomp set up the diesel fuel to work performancly.ı just wnat to teach that diesel fuel engines start up or not.I realize the engine start but dont move because of fuel pomp's deficiency..
I need a gassifier tecnical drawing whose is your to cross with mine and make more excellant gassifier.
Because turkey dont have alternative energy systems.İf ı manage to start up the engines with wood gas, ı will take government supporting and work this vehicle.

plese send to me your drawing.ı also send to you

Hi Mesut,

Diesel engines are interesting. I have heard of men fueling them with wood gas. Some have had good sucess. I understand diesel fuel is needed to ignite the woodgas/air mixture in the combustion chamber.

Is your wood gasifier making enough gas?
The imbert-type gasifier is self regulating. When increasing engine speed, and power, the fires inside the reactor also increase in size to make more gas. Increasing speed slowly, as the fires build, may help.

Can you post a drawing of the gasifier?
