What is your experience with gasification?
A lot of independent study, but very little practical experience. I see a lot of potential in this fuel source. My primary interest is in small scale CHP w/steam power. I hope to be using the "Waste Heat Engine" designed by Cyclone Power Technologies soon after it becomes available.
What are your goals with gasification?
home power, investment, other

Economics Book List

Thanks to Ben for bringing up economics in his most recent post.

I began studying economics several years ago. I was compelled to do so primarily to understand the causes of two observations: (1) why oil prices were rising, and (2) why home prices were rising. Well, I answered my questions, and many more. I've read many books over the last several years, and I came across a handful that were so good that I read them more than once. I recommend these books for anyone who may be interested in lea… Continue

Jet Pump Cooling

With so much heat available from gasifier systems, I can't help but to consider ways to use it. The refrigerant jet pump cycle comes to mind. Here's a basic description for those who are not familiar with this kind of system:

A liquid refrigerant is pumped under pressure through a heat exchanger to become a high pressure vapor. The vapor is directed through a venturi and into a condenser. The suction line of the venturi is connected to the liquid side of the condenser via an evaporator coil and… Continue

Cool blog on jet pump cooling, I did a blog about a stove called SCORE that uses sound waves to vibrate a diaphragm located at the end of the pipe. The diaphragm is attached to a coil of metal wires that sit inside a magnet. As the wire coil vibrates — about 50 times per second — it generates an electrical current, which is captured by wires and converted to the proper voltage.

I like seeing all the possible additions that can be done, cant wait to actually try some!
Thanks Chris
